4-0 MMA welterweight Salhahuddin Everett, a.k.a. Sal “Bundy”, fights for a UFC contract on October 6 in Week 9 of Dana White’s Contender Series.
Everett, who works closely with UFC CEO Dana White as a runner, or general assistant, is living out his dream of making it to the UFC Octagon and carries a 100-per-cent finishing rate and a squeaky-clean record across his eight fights in the amateur and professional ranks.
“It’s such a blessing to be in my position, to be the first person to from working for the UFC to go to fighting for the UFC,” Everett said in his pre-fight promo.
“. . .I started with the UFC three years ago, I started with the security team, and made my way into corporate security. . . . When Dana’s runner said he was ready to retire, I thought it was a great opportunity to jump into the position [runner for White].”
Everett’s talent flew under the radar for a while before White made sure he fought on the Contender Series.
“. . . I was upstairs stocking Dana’s fridge, and Dana just casually goes, ‘You talked to Hunter [Campbell] or Sean [Shelby] yet? . . . I wanna see you in Contender this season.’
