Former UFC title challenger Darren Till is preparing for the next chapter of his combat sports career.
The 33-year-old famously left the UFC by his own request in early 2023 following three-straight losses, stating that he would like to return to the world’s leading MMA promotion at a later date after pursuing other opportunities in the world of fighting.
Darren Till teases “massive” news after Misfits exit
Till followed through on his plan by making the jump to boxing and stopped Mohammed Mutie in an exhibition bout in the summer of 2024 before inking a deal with Misfits Boxing, where he went 3-0 last year and secured two of those wins via knockout.
Taking to Instagram, the Liverpudlian revealed that he’s moving on from Misfits Boxing and will be announcing his next move at some point this week.
“I’ve parted ways with Misfits, on really good terms. I’m thankful for the 12 months I had with them and the three fights I had…Got nothing but love for Misfits and the owners and promoters and stuff like that, and all the people that work behind the scenes. It’s time to try [my] hand at something else. Not a lot of people wanted to fight me – it was getting really hard to get fights. So, in the next few days, I’m gonna have a massive announcement, some massive news.”
Till concluded his update by saying that he’d like return to Misfits Boxing again at some point in the future, but for now fans are left to speculate on what the “massive” announcement he teased could possibly be.

After joining the UFC with a 12-0 record in 2015, Till collected five wins (and a majority draw with Nicolas Dalby) before being given a title shot against then-UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley at UFC 228.
How does the UFC decide which fighters get title shots?
Woodley exploited a grappling advantage to submit Till in the second round of their title bout before “The Gorilla” was knocked out by Jorge Masvidal in his return fight in 2019. Till moved up to middleweight later that year and took a split decision over Kelvin Gastelum, but his UFC run closed out with three-straight losses to Robert Whittaker, Derek Brunson, and Dricus du Plessis.
The 33-year-old’s Misfits debut saw him knock out Anthony Taylor before he bested UFC veteran Darren Stewart via decision last May. Till knocked out former UFC middleweight titleholder Luke Rockhold to claim the vacant Mifits bridgerweight belt in August, and it will be interesting to see if the former UFC star’s impending announcement may involve a return to MMA for the first time since 2022.
