Conor McGregor called out for rematch by former UFC champ

“Any weight.” One of Conor McGregor’s old UFC rivals is interested in welcoming ‘The Notorious’ back to the Octagon.

McGregor has been outside of the cage since 2021, after breaking his tibia against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy rematch. Between botched comeback plans, being snubbed for the White House event, and being found civilly liable for sexual assault by the Irish High Court, it doesn’t seem likely that the Irishman will return to fighting.

This didn’t stop Max Holloway, former UFC featherweight champion and BMF champion, from registering his interest in a rematch with McGregor.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Holloway lamented his next options after losing the BMF belt to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326.

“Conor’s there,” he remarked. “Conor got one over me. He’s talking about coming back. I’m coming off a loss. It would look pretty fun to get that one back with him. . . .We can do it at any weight.”

McGregor fought Holloway in his UFC debut, defeating him by unanimous decision.

Holloway isn’t a titleholder anymore; he doesn’t even have the BMF belt. Charles Oliveira took that title, and ‘Do Bronx’ vs. McGregor sounds like an incredible fight. However, the means in which Oliveira took the belt from Holloway may have locked him out of a ‘Money’ McGregor fight.

Over five rounds, Oliveira smothered and held Holloway down, showcasing just what he’d do to McGregor given the chance. On the other hand, Holloway is more inclined to keep the fight standing, and he maintains a top-five ranking at lightweight that McGregor would be interested in taking.
