Netflix’s MMA debut, in partnership with Most Valuable Promotions, has lost one of its best fights.
MVP MMA 1, set for May 16, is headlined by the anticipated return of Ronda Rousey, taking on Gina Carano in the main event. The card also features lineal UFC champion Francis Ngannou, as well as other big names in Nate Diaz and Mike Perry.
Unfortunately, one of their big-name fights is up in the air, as former UFC-Bellator veteran Lorenz Larkin has announced his withdrawal from the card.

‘The Monsoon’ released a message on his Instagram story on April 14, apologizing to his fans for pulling out of his fight with former Bellator champion Jason Jackson.
“I’m sorry to all the fans but I had to pull out the Netflix card due to knee injury,” Larkin wrote. “Will be rehabbing it back to 100% and will be back.”

It’s entirely possible that Larkin is replaced with another welterweight fighter. However, they’d need to be a free agent in the MMA space. Undoubtedly, the biggest name in welterweight MMA outside of the UFC is French superstar Cedric Doumbe, who would actually improve the Netflix MMA card.
Until a replacement is announced, MVP MMA 1 will continue with 10 fights, subject to change.
